Everything people ask us.
Shared households, pricing, modules, syncing, data security, Melia. If you can’t find your answer, write to us and we’ll get back to you quickly.
Household & invitations
From the app, you send a link, a code or a QR code to the people you want to invite. Each member joins the household in seconds, from the app or in their browser. Every change shows up for the others in real time: a shopping item added, a task ticked off, the fridge updated, a meal planned.
There’s no strict limit. Melimelo is designed for couples, flatshares, extended households with several adults and children, and blended families too. Everyone sees their own profile, tasks and notes, and what’s shared with the household.
No. A single Premium subscription is shared by every member invited to the household. Charging per user would go against the whole idea: Melimelo only makes sense together. One person pays, the whole household benefits.
Yes, with the Premium plan. The admin sets each member’s access module by module, across 4 levels: no access, read-only, everyday use, or full management. Some modules can even be set section by section: in Budget, accounts, transactions and budgets are set separately. A teenager sees the calendar and the shopping without getting into the budget, with no need for a second account.
They’re removed from the household’s real-time sharing. Their past contributions (recipes added, shopping ticked off and so on) stay in the household as history. Their own account keeps their personal preferences if they join another household later.
Free plan & Premium
The free plan gives you access to 21 of the 26 modules. 9 are completely free with no limits: Pets, Vehicles, Providers, Loyalty cards, Trash, Outdoors, Circles, Baby, Messages. Calendar and Birthdays are also free with no cap, with a few features reserved for Premium. 8 more are free up to a set number of entries (Shopping, Notes, Fridge, Tasks, Recipes, Gifts, Places, Wine cellar); going Premium removes that cap. Finally, Travel and Split are free to join, but you need Premium to create one. The last 5 are reserved for Premium.
5 whole modules reserved for Premium: Weekly meal plan, Routines, Budget, Wellbeing, Documents. Premium also lets you create a trip or a split, removes the cap on the 8 capped modules (Shopping, Notes, Fridge, Tasks, Recipes, Gifts, Places, Wine cellar) and unlocks the advanced features: automatic reminders for tasks, events and routines, access settings for each member, module by module, recurring events and PDF export in the calendar, offline mode for shopping, notes, tasks and loyalty cards, and voice conversations with Melia.
€3.99 a month or €39.90 a year. One payment per household, shared with every invited member. No commitment, cancel from the store at any time.
Yes, the free Premium trial runs through the official App Store and Google Play trial systems. No commitment: you can cancel directly from your store before the trial ends.
From your App Store (iPhone, iPad) or Google Play (Android) account, wherever you subscribed. No commitment, no fees, no phone call needed. You automatically go back to the free plan at the end of your current paid period.
Your data stays intact: recipes, notes, gifts, calendar and more. You go back to the free plan and its limits, and keep access to your existing content. You can reactivate Premium whenever you like.
Modules
26 modules in total, from shopping to the calendar, the fridge to recipes, the budget to trips, gifts to the wine cellar. Each module focuses on one specific household need, so it stays clear and easy to use every day.
Yes, with the Premium plan. A task with a due date creates its own reminder, one for each participant. Calendar event types carry their own reminder timings, applied to every new event. Routines notify the person they’re assigned to. And if a date moves or you reassign something, the reminders adjust without you touching them. A Reminders screen brings together everything coming up.
Budget tracks the household’s finances over time: accounts, income, fixed costs, savings, month after month. Split tracks a group of people around one specific thing, with a balance to settle and an end date: a weekend with friends, a flatshare, shared home improvements. Split opens up beyond the household with a share code, and joining someone else’s is free. Budget and Split share no data.
Yes, for the calendar, on both iOS and Android, in day, week or month view. Inside the app, you can also build the home screen however you like: Melia, the week’s calendar, tasks, weather, today’s birthdays, the next bin collection, routines, trips. You choose which blocks appear and how big they are.
You add what you put away, by hand or by scanning the barcode, to the fridge, the freezer or the pantry. Food is sorted by aisle and Melimelo alerts you before it goes off. And when you’re not sure what to do with it, ask Melia what she’d suggest with what you have left.
Yes. Import your existing recipes or create new ones, with photos and steps. Melimelo automatically adjusts quantities to the number of people eating, and sends the ingredients to the shopping list in one tap.
Yes. You can track household spending by category, spot recurring payments and plan big expenses (Christmas, holidays, back to school) without connecting your bank account.
Syncing
Melimelo imports the events from your Google, Outlook and iCloud calendars into the household calendar, with their colours, and keeps them up to date automatically. Syncing works one way: an imported event is edited from its original calendar, and what you create in Melimelo stays in Melimelo.
Yes. Everything syncs in real time across every screen in the household: if someone ticks an item off the shopping list at the supermarket, the other person sees it disappear at home within a second.
Security & data
On servers hosted in France, in line with the EU’s GDPR. Your data is never sold to third parties, isn’t used for ad targeting, and remains the household’s property.
No. Your household’s content (recipes, notes, photos, calendar, budget) isn’t used to train any model. Melia, the household assistant, processes your requests but doesn’t store your content to retrain her models.
Yes, both, without going through support. From the app, you can request an export of your household’s data and download it as files, and you can delete your account yourself. A dedicated screen also explains where the data is hosted and how it’s protected.
If you were the household admin, control passes to another member. Your personal data is deleted within the time limits set by GDPR. More details in the privacy policy.
Melia, the AI
Melia is built into the app: she doesn’t just answer, she acts. She creates recipes, adds to the shopping list, plans a meal, sets a reminder. Tuned to your household, she knows what’s in the fridge, upcoming birthdays, favourite recipes. By text or by voice.
Partly, yes: some of Melia’s features are available on the free plan, with usage limits. Unlimited use and advanced automations are reserved for Premium.
Download
On iPhone and iPad through the App Store, on Android through Google Play, on Mac with the installer from melimelo.co, coming soon to Windows through the Microsoft Store, and right in the browser at app.melimelo.co. It’s the same household everywhere, synced in real time.
Yes. Melimelo opens in the browser at app.melimelo.co, with nothing to install, and there are apps for Mac and Windows. You get all 26 modules and Melia, with a layout designed for big screens. The Premium subscription is taken out in the app on iPhone or Android, and then works on every screen in the household.
