Our approach
Melimelo has chosen restraint: the website includes no audience measurement tool, no tag manager and no third-party widget. Almost all of its pages set no cookies at all.
A single page is the exception: melimelo.co/links, which receives, among others, visitors from our advertising campaigns. It includes the Meta pixel to measure the effectiveness of these campaigns. How it works is detailed below.
The Meta pixel on the /links page
The Meta pixel is a small script provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, the publisher of Facebook and Instagram. It is loaded only on the melimelo.co/links page.
- Purpose: to measure visits to this page and clicks on the download buttons (App Store, Google Play), in order to assess and optimise our advertising campaigns run on Facebook and Instagram.
- Data sent to Meta: IP address, technical information about the browser and the device, address of the page visited, events measured (page visit, click on a download button) and cookie identifiers.
- Cookie set on melimelo.co: _fbp, which allows Meta to recognise the browser from one visit to the next, kept for 90 days.
- Meta’s cookies: if you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram in the same browser, Meta may also read or set its own cookies on its domains, for example fr.
For the collection and transmission of this data, Krafter SAS, the publisher of Melimelo, and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited act as joint controllers. Meta is solely responsible for the processing it carries out afterwards, described in its privacy policy. Meta may process this data outside the European Union, in particular in the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
What we do not use
For the avoidance of doubt, here is the list of technologies that Melimelo does not use on its website:
- Google Analytics, Matomo, Plausible, Mixpanel or any other audience measurement tool
- Google Tag Manager or equivalent
- LinkedIn, TikTok, X (Twitter) or other ad network pixels, and the Meta pixel on any page other than /links
- Other advertising cookies from third-party ad networks
- Chat tools or support widgets that would set third-party cookies
- Embedded maps or videos that would rely on third-party tracking scripts
This list reflects the state of the website on the date of the last update of this policy. Any change will be reflected here.
Installed apps
The installed Melimelo apps (iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows) do not set cookies in the web sense. They use your operating system’s native local storage mechanisms to keep your login session and the cache that keeps the household available offline. The app on iPhone, iPad, Android and Mac, like its browser version at app.melimelo.co, does however include audience measurement. This data and the cookies of the browser version are described in the privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
This cookie policy may change if Melimelo changes the tools used on its website. The date of the last update appears at the top of this page. Users are informed of any substantial change via the app or by email.
